Long Nguyen, Ph.D.
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at University of Louisville. Previously, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Data Science at Meharry Medical College. I obtained my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Texas Tech University, United States.
I had worked over 15 years in software industry in different countries before turning to academia career.
My research interests include data mining, artificial intelligence, and machine learning, with special interests in TING aspects - Text, Interpretation, Network, and Generative AI. Some specific areas are including but not limited to Foundation Models, Large Language Models, Natural Language Processing, Time-series Analysis and Anomaly Detection.
I enjoy advancing AI techniques and turning science to benefit community at large.

October 2025, Our paper entitled "SentiFuse: Deep Multi-model Fusion Framework for Robust Sentiment Extraction" is accepted for presentation at The 14th International Conference on Computational Data and Social Networks.
March 2025, We received a sub-award from National Science Foundation for building disaster resilience framework utilizing social media. The effort is in collaboration with Meharry Medical College and Missouri University of Science and Technology
